Photobucket

This architectural paper model represents the Poganovski Monastery, located in south-eastern of Serbia. This beautiful model was created by designer Amir Mohammad Kamyab and was originally posted at Pepakura Gallery. Mr. Kamyab forget to put the paper model version of this beautiful building, so I make a version with ruined textures, to download and build and hosted it at Mediafire ( free to download, of course). The link is in the end of this post. I make it clear that all credit for this model are to Mr. Mohammad Amir Kamyab.

The Real Thing

Monastery of St. John the Theologian (Poganovski Monastery), was built in the late 14th century, and its frescoes were painted in the late 15th century. It has been under the state protection since 1949, and since 1979 it is on the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. The monastery was built mostly in the Moravian style, from the rubble sandstone and limestone. No hypothesis about the possible founder of this monastery is supported by evidence. This monastery is famous among experts on Byzantine art.
