Japanese Vegetables Papercraft Collection - by Sasatoku

Sasatoku is a Japanese company based in the city of Toyoake, Aichi Prefecture, which offers graphic services and operates domestically (Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka) and abroad (China, Indonesia).

Sasatoku has a strategy that I find very friendly to promote his services, which is the creation and sharing of free papercrafts.

The collection is huge and ranges from paper toys for children, letters of the alphabet in the shape of animals and everyday objects (for the English language), flowers and vegetables (as presented in this post), cards for commemorative dates, gift boxes, even models decorative paper pieces that reflect the traditional culture of Japan.

In this post I highlight the papercraft collection of vegetables widely used in Japanese cuisine, which can be printed in full size and can be used as decoration or for children to play with. You will find spinach, turnip, beans (Saya pea), bamboo shoots, Japanese dokkatsu orchid (asparagus), kwai, eggplant, green pepper, myoga (Japanese ginger), pumpkin, lotus root and carrot.

Dim Sum - Cantonese Dishes Papercraft - by Hirai Tosiaki
& M.Yukishita

Created by Japanese designers Hirai Tosiaki and M.Yukishita exclusively for the Canon website, this set of papercrafts of traditional Cantonese dishes can be used as decoration or as games for children.

Dim sum is a wide variety of small Cantonese dishes traditionally enjoyed in restaurants during brunch.

Most modern dim sum dishes are associated with Cantonese cuisine, although dim sum dishes also exist in other Chinese cuisines.

In the 10th century, when the city of Canton began to experience an increase in commercial travel, many people frequented teahouses for small tea meals called "yum cha."

Yum cha includes two related concepts. The first is "jat zung loeng gin", which literally translates to "one cup, two items".

This refers to the custom of serving tea house customers two food items, savory or sweet, to complement the tea.

The second is dim sum, which literally translates as "touching the heart", the term used to designate the small foods that accompanied the tea.

Hamburger With French Fries Realistic Paper Model In 1/1 Scale
by Hirai Tosiaki And M. Yukishita

Created by Japanese designers Hirai Tosiaki and M. Yukishita exclusively for Canon's website, here is a realistic paper model of a life-size hamburger with french fries.

The entire model takes up eight printed sheets, and in the playset presentation, Mr. Tosiaki and Mr. Yukishita say: _ "A realistic playset of a hamburger and french fries that adults and children can enjoy. Would you like to play as a hamburger shop attendant? Let's assemble the set with the help of an adult."

The history of the hamburger dates back centuries, but the sandwich as we know it today, with ground meat between two buns, has more recent roots.

The concept of placing meat between bread can be traced back to ancient civilizations, such as the Romans, who used to consume minced meat between slices of bread. However, it didn't resemble the modern hamburger.

The modern hamburger is believed to have originated in the late 19th or early 20th century, particularly in the United States.

The name "hamburger" is derived from Hamburg, a German city known for its tradition of minced meat.

In 1904, in St. Louis, United States, the hamburger gained popularity during the World's Fair. A meat vendor named Fletcher Davis started serving grilled hamburgers at his stand. They were initially sold without buns, but the idea of placing meat between two buns quickly caught on.

McDonald's, one of the world's largest fast-food chains, was founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald. They popularized the concept of fast and standardized hamburgers, which helped drive the global hamburger culture.

The first known cheeseburger was served at a restaurant called "The Rite Spot" in Pasadena, California, in 1926. Cheese was added to the hamburger to attract more customers, and the result was a great success.

In 2001, NASA sent a hamburger into space. It was an experiment to test the feasibility of eating hamburgers in zero gravity. The hamburger wasn't consumed by the astronauts, but the experiment contributed to research on food in space.

The hamburger is an iconic food that has spread worldwide and become an integral part of fast food culture.

Again I leave my thanks to my friend No Kizinger, from Nevada, USA, for another beautiful find.
